It is not only suitable for large industrial projects, e.g. in tool and mould making, but also for the smallest detail projects, such as jewellery production.
In collaboration with Mr Boris Müller, founder of Erosch Schmuck, we have accompanied the journey of our PREMIUM 1.4301 from our shelf compartment in production to the finished pendant.
Which metal is suitable for making jewellery?
Everyone is familiar with the common metals used to make jewellery. These include silver, gold and platinum, for example. But another underestimated metal for jewellery production is stainless steel, which is why our partner Erosch turned to us – ABRAMS Industries®.
Which stainless steel is used for jewellery?
PREMIUM steel 1.4301 is a corrosion-resistant, austenitic chromium-nickel steel that is easy to process and has an attractive appearance when polished to a mirror finish. This steel material is easy to deep-draw, weldable and wear-resistant, making it ideal for the manufacture of costume jewellery.

Chain pendant made from ABRAMS® PREMIUM stainless steel
What is eroding in the production of stainless steel chain pendants?
Then it’s time for the starting hole erosion. During this process, the hole for the eyelet is made, which is important later in order to be able to attach the pendant to a chain.
The steel chain pendants are eroded from the solid on the wire erosion machine. The side with the letter is the first to go.
The material is then rotated by 90° and the heart is eroded.
After the trailers have been completely eroded, the eyelets are rounded by hand using a grinder.
The trailers are then sent for electropolishing and are individually and precisely checked by hand.
The silver pendants made of stainless steel are ready.
They can be gold-plated on request … with real gold

After a final quality check, the pendants are packaged with or without a chain.
The parcel is then sent to the proud new owners.

Additional information: How do you clean stainless steel jewellery?
As this is a corrosion-resistant steel, it is advisable to simply clean the pendant carefully with water and a little soap. It is then important to rinse the piece thoroughly so that the protective layer is not damaged and the piece of jewellery remains as good as new for as long as possible.
