Vorbearbeiteter Präzisionsstahl ist ein allseitig bearbeitetes Werkstück mit garantiert entkohlungsfreier Oberfläche, welches direkt zur Fertigung eines industriellen Präzisionsproduktes genutzt werden kann. Dieses Vormaterial wird auch Halbzeug genannt, weil es eine “halbe” Bearbeitungsstufe auf dem Weg zu einem Fertigbauteil bezeichnet.
Es kann sich hierbei um Präzisionsflachstahl und Präzisionsrundstahl handeln, jeweils ohne oder auch mit Bearbeitungsaufmaß.
